These classic games are not only known for their great gameplay, their classic sound design also played a big role in making these game popular. Who doesn’t know the theme song of Mario? Or the beeps and boops from PacMan?
It’s interesting to notice that the way the progammers were limited by the technical capabilities of these early systems also affected the way these games sounded and helped to shape their characteristics. By listening to how these games sounded, we brought back these characteristics to the animations, so that they not only look, but also feel like the original.
